Dump Telsa – Defund Fascism

By: Janan Platt, Community Member

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalPERS) together own about 9 million shares of Tesla stock. Elon Musk gets most of his wealth from Tesla. Funding Tesla is funding fascism.

An action we can all take is: CALL and WRITE our representatives, and demand they DIVEST from TESLA and DEFUND FASCISM.

Dumping Tesla stocks is a win for everyone. Like the cars, the over inflated stock value is crashing. Like the cybertruck, Elon Musk’s destruction of our country is too ugly to be involved with. We don’t want our Public Employees to lose value of their investment in retirement funds. And we don’t want to fund fascism.

DUMP TESLA STOCKS, stop subsidizing Musk and cancel contracts with his companies.

Community Action Instead of Protest this Saturday, April 19

Lake County Democrats have decided to hold a community action event on Saturday the 19th instead of a protest. We will be helping the Clear Lake Gleaners with a food donation drop off at their location in Finley, 1896 Big Valley Road.

50501 the national organization we usually coordinate our events with are also saying community focused events are a great idea. People are hurting in our community due to the draconian budget cuts – we can step up to help. Please consider participating.

Our next protest will probably be May 3rd, we will be promoting shortly.

Please spread the word!

Federal Budget Cuts Devastating for Lake County

Tuesday, April 8, Rachael Dillman Parsons, Director of Lake County Department of Social Services, presented before the Lake County Board of Supervisors. Her presentation detailed the impacts that current cuts in the Federal budget will have on Lake County and its residents. It’s a lot of information, but take the time to watch it. Ms. Parsons outlines very clearly the dramatic negative impact these budget cuts will have on Lake Counties most vulnerable citizens.

Supervisor Pyska states in closing comments: “The number 1 thinking we have to do is to look after our people….We have to make sure no one is left behind.”

Here is the link: The presentation starts at 52:00 and ends at 128:54.
