Join the National Day of Protest in Lakeport

Join Lake County Democrats and other concerned county residents in showing our shared outrage and resistance to the lawless actions of the Trump/Musk administration. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. (Shareable event link.)

With an unelected and unconfirmed Musk-rat laying waste to core government programs and services, President Trump continues to pump out unlawful executive orders and has place the Department of Justice under siege. Not since the DOJ’s “Saturday Night Massacre,” inflicted by President Nixon during Watergate, has a president tried to circumvent the law.

Please plan to join us at Courthouse Park in downtown Lakeport. Bring friends, family and signs. All Americans must declare, regardless of party, that we remain a democratic nation founded on laws and principles … not a monarchy or banana republic. Rally to uphold the U.S. Constitution, the intentional separation of powers in our government structure, and the preservation of core government services, programs and employees.

This nationwide event is not organized or sponsored by the Lake County Democratic Party, but we’ll be there for sure.

Collaborative Efforts Help “Spread the Love”

Winter time efforts to help replenish our local food banks are under way. The Redwood Empire Food Bank and Lake County Democrats are combining their efforts during the month of February to specifically increase the supply of healthy and easy to serve peanut butter. The peanut butter drive is aptly named “Spread the Love.” Every jar donated will make a difference.

In collaboration with the Redwood Empire Food Bank and for the convenience of donors, Lake County Democrats have established drop off sites at homes in many of our local communities. Those sites are found on lakecountydemocrats.org. Just take your donation of peanut butter ** no glass jars please ** to any of the designated sites. Any kind of nut butter and other nonperishable food items are welcome. At the end of February, Lake County Democrats will deliver the donated food to the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Distribution of collected food will take place at the Redwood Empire Food Bank’s established sites and schedules around the lake. That information is found on the Redwood Empire Food Bank website.

Participation by a variety of organizations is encouraged. Those who attend regularly scheduled club or social meetings and religious services are encouraged to plan a peanut butter collection during the month of February. Items collected can then be taken at any time to one of the drop off sites posted on Lake County Democrats website.

Providing high protein nutrition, while reducing food insecurity among our community members, is something we can all support.

Spread The Love This February

In conjunction with the Redwood Empire Food Bank, Lake County Democrats are Spreading the Love this February. Together, we’re on a mission to collect 20,000 jars of peanut butter by the end of the month. We can’t do it without your help. Together, we can ensure community members have access to this beloved pantry staple. Let’s Spread the Love, one jar at a time!

Lake County Democrats will deliver donated peanut butter to Redwood Empire Food Bank. Distribution will take place at Redwood Empire Food Bank established sites around the lake. Visit the Redwood Empire Food Bank website for distribution sites.

Our Hearts Are With Southern California

As the wildfires rage across Southern California, our hearts go out to every individual, family, and community impacted by this ongoing devastation. Having faced the tragic realities of wildfires here in Lake County, we deeply understand the fear, uncertainty, and loss that come with these disasters.
In times like these, we must come together as one. To the brave firefighters and first responders risking their lives to protect others: we thank you. To the evacuees, know you are not alone—there is a network of compassionate people ready to help you rebuild when the time comes.

The Lake County Democrats stand in solidarity with those affected, and we encourage everyone who is able to contribute to relief efforts. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness, every action matters.

For those impacted by the wildfires, we urge you to stay safe, listen to evacuation orders, and lean on the support systems around you. We are keeping you in our thoughts and sending strength your way.

In unity and resilience,

Lake County Democrats
