Statewide General Election – November 3, 2026

Make a Plan to Vote – The November 3rd General Election is a critical election for saving our Democracy. With the attacks on our Statewide Vote-by-Mail system, and attacks on the integrity of our national election system in general, it is imperative that we all vote. We must stand up and make our voices heard.

CADEM — 2026 General Election Endorsements & Ballot Measure Positions

Based on our Bylaws we have a One Voice policy with CADEM (California Democratic Party). CADEM will endorse local candidates endorsed by the Democratic Party of Lake County and we will endorse CADEM’s slate of endorsements.

Endorsed State candidates who will appear on your Lake County Ballot:

U.S. Congress:

• CA 1 – Mike McGuire We Like Mike! When Trump cut health care, Mike McGuire kept rural hospitals open and expanded coverage. When Trump cut wildfire budgets, Mike doubled the number of state firefighters and invested billions in wildfire prevention. When Trump defunded Planned Parenthood, Mike led the fight to keep all 100 of their California health centers open.
• CA 4 – Mike Thompson Rep. Mike Thompson represents California’s 4th Congressional District, which includes all or parts of Lake, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo Counties. Thompson serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means, where he is Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Tax and a senior member of the Health Subcommittee.

State Senate: SD 02 – Damon Connolly 25 Years Championing the Needs of Working Families and the North Coast Way of Life. As a State Assemblymember, County Supervisor, City Council Member, School Board President, and Deputy Attorney General, Damon bring 25 years of extensive experience defending the North Coast, and delivering real results for our communities – from investing billions into climate action, wildfire prevention, and drought mitigation, to cleaning up the air near our schools and daycares and securing investments in local affordable housing.

State Assembly: AD 04 – Cecilia Aguiar-Curry Cecilia has a track record of getting things done as a community leader and businesswoman, Planning Commissioner, City Councilmember, and first woman Mayor of Winters. She continues that focus on accomplishment as Assembly Majority Leader.

Governor: Xavier Becerra I’m running for governor to make sure that California keeps rising – that we’re building our economy while working hard to protect your rights and freedoms in the state we love.

Lieutenant Governor: Fiona Ma Fiona Ma, CPA is California’s 34th State Treasurer. She was first elected on November 6, 2018 with more votes than any other candidate for treasurer in the state’s history and re-elected to her second term in 2022. She is the first woman of color and the first woman Certified Public Accountant (CPA) elected to the position. California is the world’s fourth-largest economy and Treasurer Ma is the state’s primary banker. Her office processes more than $3 trillion in payments within a typical year and provides transparency and oversight for an investment portfolio of more than $124 billion, approximately $34.8 billion of which are local government funds. She also is responsible for $93 billion in outstanding general obligation and lease revenue bonds of the state.

Secretary of State: Shirley Weber Dr. Shirley N. Weber, California’s Secretary of State, is a powerful voice for justice who has dedicated her career to defending and strengthening our most fundamental civil rights, including the right to vote. In a time of unprecedented partisan attacks on our democracy, Dr. Weber will stand firm, stand straight, and stand strong to protect, secure, and expand Californians’ right to vote.

Attorney General: Rob Bonta Justice for all. Attorney General Rob Bonta is running for re-election to protect our freedoms, defend our democracy, and stand up to abuse of power wherever it appears. The fight is far from over — but together we’ll keep standing up to stop unlawful power grabs by the federal government, defend our immigrant communities, protect reproductive freedom, hold greedy corporations accountable, keep our communities safe from gun violence and fentanyl trafficking, safeguard our environment, and so much more.

Treasurer: Eleni Kounalakis As the proud daughter of a Greek immigrant and a native Californian, Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis has a deep-rooted love for her home state that began when her father came to California as a refugee from Greece. Her passion and gratitude for California led her to devote her life to public service. A proud mother, daughter, advocate, and leader, Eleni knows the struggles Californians face and has the experience and grit to bring meaningful change to her home state. She is a fierce fighter and strives to build a future where everyone — regardless of race, class, or immigration status — has the same chance and opportunity that she and her family did.

Controller: Malia Cohen Democrat Malia Cohen is the right candidate for the job. Born and raised in San Francisco, Malia has seen how quickly our state is changing, and she is determined to fight for an equitable, healthy future for all Californians.

Superintendent of Public Instruction: Richard Barrera As President of the San Diego Unified School Board, Richard Barrera spent the last 20 years uniting teachers, parents, and community leaders behind a shared vision that prepares kids for success no matter the career path they pursue. Richard is ensuring every child learns in a safe, modern & well equipped school.

Insurance Commissioner: Ben Allen Ben Allen has spent a decade Fighting for consumers. Now he’s taking that fight to the Department of Insurance. State Senator Ben Allen has spent a decade building a record of taking on entrenched interests: from the utilities to insurers to big oil. As Insurance Commissioner, he’ll lower costs, bring insurers back to the market, and make sure Californians are paid what they are owed in a time of crisis.

Board of Equalization District 2: Sally Lieber Experienced and Effective. Sally Lieber has served as a City Councilmember, Mayor, County Commissioner, State Assemblymember, Member of the California Franchise Tax Board, and is now Chair of the
California State Board of Equalization. She knows how to get things done and she puts in the work.
