A Welcome From Our Chair

Dear Democrats and Democratic leaning folks of Lake County,

What a year to start out as chair of our Lake County Democratic Party. This was not the 2025 that any of us worked for, nor hoped for, nor dreamed of, but it is the one that we find ourselves in. So what can we do?

Well, here you are on our website, checking us out, which means that you care enough to see what’s happening on a local level. I would invite you to join one of our monthly meetings, take part in our socials, attend our annual barbecue, and/or participate in one of the Actions that we sponsor regularly.

We have a really amazing group here in the county. A lot of people you’ll recognize who are doing the important work of uplifting our community, and supporting folks when they most need it. We have: educators and social workers; union leaders and builders; activists, caretakers and healers; small business owners; parents and grandparents working for a better future; retired folks looking to do some good with the extra time on their hands.

We believe that healthcare is a human right, and that we should have clean water and clean air. We believe all should have public access to the beauty of nature for generations to come. We believe in the freedom to love who you choose and to be who you are. We believe in fairness, kindness, and giving back to our community. We support living wages, celebrate our diversity, and we strive to do better, and become better, every day.

If this sounds like you, we would love to have you join us. To serve with us on a committee, you don’t need to be a voting member, you just need to be a registered Democrat in Lake County.
