County Central Committees are comprised of local Democrats elected to the County Committee, as well as any partisan-level Democratic nominees or Democratic Elected Officials.
The County Central Committees are in charge of the Democratic Party campaigns in their county, under the general direction of the State Democratic Party. County Committees are the chartering organization for the local clubs and serve as the liaison to the State Party for the clubs and local Democrats. They also support our clubs financially. Each County's supervisorial district is alloted a certain number of seats on the Democratic Central Committee based on Democratic registration in that District. Each regular member from these districts is encouraged to appoint an alternate, to fill in for the regular member at meetings, for voting purposes. Alternates are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of their appointing members. Any Democrat in Lake County can also join as an Associate member. Associate members are non-voting members. They can financially support the work of local Democrats with their dues, participate in meeting discussions and committee work. The Lake County Democratic Central Committee has openings for voting regular members and alternate members for each voting member. For more information on dues, committee openings and meeting contact the Democratic Party in Lake County 707.263.4529. | ||
