The National Union of Healthcare Workers is sponsoring the first major forum featuring the four leading Democratic candidates for California governor Sunday in Anaheim.

Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, State Treasurer John Chiang, former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former State Superintendent of Public Instruction Delaine Eastin will appear together on stage for the first time to answer questions related to health care, worker and immigrant rights, and how California should respond to the Trump presidency.

Watch a livestream of the forum from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at NUHW.org.

The forum will be moderated by veteran network journalist John Donvan. Questioning the candidates will be reporters Bob Butler of KCBS Radio, Jeff Horseman of the Southern California News Group, Melanie Mason of the Los Angeles Times and Maria Paula Ochoa of Telemundo.

After the forum, 350 elected NUHW stewards will vote on the union’s endorsement.

“Our union’s endorsement is in the hands of our members,” NUHW President Sal Rosselli said. “There’s no backroom, no smoke and no mirrors. Our members have been discussing and debating the responses we received from candidates for weeks. After we get a chance to hear from them in person, we’ll take a transparent, democratic vote — and whoever wins will have the full support of our entire union.”
